Friendship Caucus

The Congressional U.S.- Lebanon Friendship Caucus is a caucus in the United States House of Representatives.

The caucus has taken action on several issues, including: 

  • Presidential elections: Urging the Lebanese political stakeholders to hold timely and representative presidential elections 
  • Lebanon’s parliament: Urging the Biden administration to engage with Lebanon’s parliament to elect a new president 
  • Maritime border agreement: Supporting peaceful border measures between Lebanon and Israel 

The United States seeks to maintain close ties with Lebanon and to help preserve its independence, sovereignty, national unity, and territorial integrity.

Our New Lebanon is a co-founder and member of the Lebanese American Coordinating Committee (LACC). LACC represents a coalition of Lebanese-American organizations supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty, independence, and democracy. LACC developed principles that govern its operations and advocacy efforts with officials and decision-making centers in Washington, D.C. The LACC also partners with like-minded organizations in Lebanon and across the diaspora. Alongside its core member organizations, the LACC has formed a robust Advisory Committee comprising experts across various fields who can guide the Committee’s work.
